The way of the next generation of communications and surveillance systems in the air traffic control goes through Data-Link services. Link 2000+ program is the successful realization of the ICAO standards. The air ground communications via Data-Link application Controller-Pilot Data Link Communication (CPDLC) particularly in en-route phase of the flight reduce the workload of the controllers and bring relief to the congested analog voice channels. Legacy voice communications systems will further remain as a fallback system.
